Manly United Chasing Third Spot
The chance to potentially finish in third spot ahead of the semi-finals is Manly United’s chief motivation when they play Hakoah Sydney City East this Sunday.
It is a fixture which looms as a testing one, with the home side generally hard to beat at Hensley Athletic Field.
United were beaten at Pagewood by Hakoah on Anzac Day, a result which bundled them out of the FFA Cup.
The playing group haven’t forgotten that day.
“Hakoah are dangerous, they are still in the FFA Cup and won the Waratah Cup a few weeks ago,” Manly skipper Jamie Lobb said.
“They also have two quality strikers in Neil Jablonski and Andre de Jong.
“We took plenty of positives out of the Sydney United win last week, we dug deep and got the result.”
If APIA Leichhardt beat Rockdale at Lambert Park and Manly win, Warren Grieve’s men will secure third spot.
Kick-off is 3pm.
