Manly United too classy for fighting NWS Koalas
Manly United coach Chris Williams was a relieved man at the final whistle following his team’s 2-1 win versus NWS Koalas on Easter Monday at ELS Hall Park.
Conceding his team “weren’t at their best” it took a double from substitute Sophie Harding to seal their third win on the trot.
“Full credit to the Koalas, they made us work hard and caused us a few problems,” Williams said.
“I was very happy with how we reacted to being a goal down – the girls didn’t panic and we continued to play our game.
“I also thought the substitutes turned the game in our favour.”
Harding in particular was a standout.
“When she came on she gave us another dimension and was a real threat,” Williams said.
“She has worked very hard over the pre-season and has improved immensely.
“Her goals were a reward for that hard work, her second goal was a great finish.”
United host traditional competition heavyweights Illawarra Stingrays this Sunday at Cromer Park from 4pm.
