Manly looking to send Sydney back to University
Battle hardened Manly United will play their third game in seven days this Sunday when they host Sydney University at Cromer Park.
Coach Chris Williams knows his players are weary, but the chance to finish as high as second ahead of another finals campaign is enticing.
“If a few players have knocks we won’t risk them, but they are a competitive bunch of footballers,” he said.
“They don’t like to miss games, that is why I like coaching them.
“(Sydney) University will be tough, they are champions for a reason.
“We don’t fear them though, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a result.”
In Wednesday night’s 3-3 draw with Football NSW Institute, Ally Green, Sunny Franco and Bella Walker were on the score sheet.
Sharing around the goals has been a constant theme for United in 2018.
“It is pleasing, we needed players to step up once Remy Siemsen left to play in America,” Williams said.
“I’m looking forward to the semis, a top three finish is what we deserve.”
Kick-off on Sunday is 3pm.
