Manly United v Illawarra Stingrays Preview
MANLY United will be hoping history repeats itself when they take on Illawarra at JJ Kelly Park on Sunday afternoon.
Chris Williams’ squad turned plenty of heads after beating the Stingrays 3-1 at Cromer Park back in round seven on April 22.
Striker Em Minett was on the scoresheet that day, and she is adamant United can do the season double over their opponents from the NSW south coast.
“That game was great, it showed what we are capable of as a squad,” she said.
“I’m sure they (Stingrays) haven’t forgotten that result, and playing at JJ Kelly Park isn’t easy, we are used to synthetic pitches, but it adds to the challenge.
“We just have to adapt. I thought we were quite good last weekend (versus NWS Koalas), we can look to build on that performance.”
Kick-off is 3pm.
