Chris Williams is confident his side will make the most of their chances this weekend as Manly United eye a return to winning ways in the NPLW NSW when they take on NWS Koalas at Cromer Park on Sunday afternoon.
Last weekend they took the game to the benchmark team in the competition Sydney University and did everything but score, returning home with an extremely unfortunate 2-0 defeat.
The result saw Manly fall to 6th spot on the ladder however they remain well in the hunt, only three points shy of second and six behind Uni who lead the competition.
This weekend the side return to Cromer Park, where they have won every match so far in 2020.
They take on a Koalas side who still have two matches to catch up to play, meaning their 10th place position does not tell the full story of the season.
A late APIA Leichhardt equaliser forced them into a share of the spoils last weekend so the visitors will be eager to return to winning ways themselves.
For Manly, Williams emphasised the importance of being clinical in front of goal this time around.
“The Koalas are a little bit under the radar, they have a really strong squad and I think if they’ve played all their games they would be a bit higher up the table,” he said.
“It will be a really tough game against some really good players, but we’ve done our research and have come up with a plan against them – at home we want to impose ourselves on them.
“The key this week is to take our chances, especially early on when we’re on top.”
First grade will kick off at their usual 3pm timeslot on Sunday afternoon.
