Vale Micky Williams
Manly United and the northern beaches football community are united in its grief following the sudden passing of former player Micky Williams last week.
Michael’s passing has shaken many of the football community, illustrating the regard in which he was held at all levels of the game.
Michael came to Manly United as a player and was an incredibly popular member of the Manly United Football Club, forging friendships that continued well past his playing days both for Manly United and local MWFA Clubs CC Strikers and Seaforth.
He touched people wherever he went and his love of the game, and the people he met along the way, is typified by the broad cross section of the football community that is feeling a sense of disbelief.
Micky also put back into the game through various coaching roles and in recent years took great joy in following and encouraging his son Ryker’s first steps on his football journey.
Micky was well respected and loved by everyone who met him through the football world but was also a wonderful husband to wife Kate and father to Ryker, Zara and Zac.
We all share the pain his family is going through and will be here to get behind Kate, Ryker, Zara and Zac.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to assist Kate, Ryker, Zara and Zac: https://www.gofundme.com/f/for-the-beautiful-kate-ryker-zara-zac?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=sms&utm_source=customer
