Williams: “We can beat anyone on our day”
Chris Williams isn’t the type of coach who gets overly nervous before big games.
Be it derbies or even grand finals like the one this Sunday, the Manly United women’s boss always stresses the need to stay calm.
“We can beat anyone on our day, so why would I be stressed ? ” Williams said this week.
“All the girls know the threats Macarthur offer, we have played them three times this year.
“I keep telling everyone to soak up the moment, this is why we play football.”
In a significant blow for the Rams, Kylie Ledbrook is suspended after picking up yellow cards in both semi-finals the past fortnight.
Williams feels it is a rule which must change.
“I feel for Kylie, it is a terrible outcome for her,” he said.
“You want to play the best in big games, and she certainly falls into that category.”
Manly have the luxury of no injuries or suspensions heading into the decider.
Tash Prior and Remy Siemsen are United’s x-factors.
Kick-off at Valentine Sports Park, the home of Football NSW, is 5pm.
